Dear West Haven Community,
During my time at West Haven Elementary, I have been extremely impressed by the generosity of West Haven community. Author Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” The students at West Haven Elementary embody this statement and are currently preparing to support the American Cancer Society by hosting their annual Hawk Walk on May 15, 2015.
This mini Relay for Life will start at 7:00 AM and America First will donate $5.00 for each student who walks between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. In addition to walking for a cure, students are encouraged to collect donations from family and friends. (Please keep in mind that donations are not mandatory for participation.) Donations can be turned into a donation bucket in your student’s classroom or in the office starting on Monday, May 11th. The last day to make a donation will be Friday, May 15, 2015. (Checks need to be made out to the American Cancer Society.) This will be a great experience and I invite you to join with us as we raise money for those in need!
Please remember that my door is always open to you. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and your students better and I feel like the luckiest principal in the world to work with such an amazing school community! Please don’t hesitate to call or drop by if I can help in any way!
